Messages of support: batch # 3

Thank you for all your messages of support. Here is just a brief sample of some of the latest of them…

The Ideas Campaign is simple, straightforward and, most importantly, everyone has a role to play. The current crisis should be seen as a massive opportunity for the Irish people to finally tap into the talents of everyone living here - as well as the talents of the Irish Diaspora - to come out of this crisis and emerge a stronger and better nation for it.
- Oisin

This is a great and powerful idea. We need to have confidence in ourselves and our abilities in order to move forward out of this crisis. We have the ability to create our own destiny.
- Michelle

Congratulations on having the courage to start this campaign and empowering the Irish people again. We have all felt like pawns in a huge chess game over the past number of months. This campaign gives us back our voice and allows us to feel we have some control over our future. Thank you for making this possible.
- Brenda

The Ideas Campaign is an excellent idea. It is very encouraging for people who may have shunned politics because they believed it was a ‘done deal’ at every election. Now is the time for true democracy and true people power to save the economy.
- Louise

This is a great idea and a great campaign. I suggest you target children - they have ideas that all of us adults know can’t work, because we’re all so wise. But are we? Why not set up a special website for children. They have a huge amount to contribute and should be encouraged to be part of the solution.
- Shane

What can I say that has not been already said? It is obvious that there is a fantastic belief and effort being put into your campaign by all involved. I hope that what needs to be done to turn around this situation will come from the people of this country through their own ideas.
- Cathal

I commend you on having the courage to pursue this fantastic idea. Many people have good ideas but fear public criticism and keep their ideas to themselves. This crisis is forcing us to wake up and create a better Ireland.
- Mary

This is just what is needed to unlock creativity that otherwise would stay locked in people’s minds.

- Anthony

I’m delighted to support this campaign. It’s brilliant to think that through the Ideas Campaign I now have the opportunity to put my ideas forward to government. It’s also a brilliant collaborative opportunity to use the web to connect people with the powers that be.
- Brian

I think it is fantastic to see a forum that is channelling ideas from various age groups, social backgrounds and experience. I am sure that the best ideas often remain hidden and are rarely given a voice. I hope the Ideas Campaign gives the great people who remain in the background the opportunity to stand out and make a difference.
- Julie

I believe that by establishing and supporting a greater number of smaller enterprises we have a greater hope of finding our next Kerry Group or Ryanair as global demand picks up. We must not allow ourselves to rely exclusively on small numbers of big businesses to support entire communities. I would be very interested in getting involved in the Ideas Campaign. If there are any open sessions I would be very interested in attending. Please let me know.
- Dara

You are brilliant, true patriots - I thoroughly applaud your efforts. You are and will make a very positive and substantial difference to people’s lives. Well done to Mark Little for championing you.
- Stephen

It’s great to see a simple, commonsense idea that gives the public a chance to voice their opinions and know that they will be heard. It is this kind of thinking that we need and will lead us out of the situation that we are in. Thank you.
- Colette

Showing initiative is a trait that lies dormant in many of us. Your website is to be commended because it invites and supports initiative. Showing initiative and doing things in new and better ways will contribute significantly to getting this country out of recession.
- Vincent

I’m delighted to see your campaign using the public airwaves to spread optimism and constructive thinking. We’ve needed this for a long time and maybe now is the perfect opportunity to bring about a huge change in direction for Ireland.
- John Francis

Fantastic. You feel you can take ownership of the problem and try to solve it instead of just being a helpless spectator. You are an inspiration in this tsunami of doom and gloom.
- Frank

This is a vital resource to pool the ideas of the nation. I would like to see it become a permanent resource and not just for the month of March. Thank you for doing this and best of luck.
- Anne Louise

This forum is a great opportunity for everyone to have their say on how we can pull ourselves out of this recession. This country has survived worse times than this, and we will prevail again.
