  • Tourists should pay corkage as opposed to buying wine in restaurants.
  • Trim roadsides.
  • TV programmes promoting visitor attractions in Ireland.
  • Unemployed cleaning up the countryside.
  • Upgrade WIT to a University to allow the South East to grow as a region in terms of Entrepreneurship and FDI.
  • Use hotel function rooms as day care centres.
  • Use canals as a public transport method to see the city.
  • Use empty and unoccupied houses as rental accommodation.
  • Utilise the tourism potential of our coastal waters with floating restaurants, coastal tours and educational trips.
  • Utilising people who are on the dole to restore or simply give a face lift to local tourist/heritage sites, assist tidy towns committees is a cheap and affective way of both making use of peoples skills and providing people with something worthwhile to do while looking for more permanent work.
  • Visitor centres should be let out to tender
  • We are not at the races with countries like Britain France and Germany who preserve their village and town heritage.
