- There should be a focus on becoming carbon neutral and driving the green economy here
- There should be an aggressive repatriation of various services and assets.
- There should be cross-border, barter-based exchanges for goods and services.
- Train and up skill the unemployed to aid them in finding employment.
- Train more civil servants into ICT to reduce spend on consultants and technicians.
- Transfer liability for stamp duty to the seller in land or house transactions.
- Try and establish cross border departments for services such as transport, road and rail infrastructure, delivery of health services, with the aim of being able to reduce the amount of pubic money we spend on these necessary services
- Turn off public lighting at certain hours and delay lighting up time by one additional hour
- Turn old council houses into rented accommodation that the government could lease out. This would generate revenue and employment.
- Use National Lottery funds to purchase one4all vouchers as a gift to all households in the country (or all those on the live register). These vouchers are used in retail outlets throughout the country and would give a big boost to consumer spending.
- Volunteer systems to upskill the workforce
- War bond to be sold to the super rich and redeemable in 5 years
- We should provide a more competitive cost base for multinationals located in Ireland and the Government should consider subsiding multinational considering relocating to other countries.
- Whistle blowing on fraudsters should be actively encouraged by the authorities
- Widen the areas into which private pensions can be invested, specifically, infrastructure projects such as school development, transport services, water services, health etc which would have a significant planning and social dividend. The return on the pension fund investment could be set at 5 or 6%.
